The story behind every cup
How it all began
A single cup changed everything
Sitting in a quiet matcha shop in Japan, watching the careful, intentional way each cup was prepared — we felt something shift. The slow sifting of powder. The precise temperature of water. The meditative whisking. There was a calmness in every gesture.
And then the question that started it all: “Why does this feel so rare? Why can’t we have this at home?”
That question became Ukiyo Matcha.

浮世
What Ukiyo means
Ukiyo (浮世) is a Japanese word that once described the sorrows of life. Over time, during the Edo period, its meaning transformed into something beautiful — “the floating world,” a celebration of life’s fleeting, precious moments.
For us, Ukiyo is a reminder to pause, breathe, and stay present. Matcha isn’t just a drink — it’s a daily ritual. A moment of calm before the world speeds up again.

Our Source
Sourced in Shimane & Kyoto. Shared in Malaysia.
We partner directly with tea farms in Shimane Prefecture and Uji, Kyoto — two regions with generations of tea cultivation knowledge and ideal growing conditions. No middlemen. No compromises.
Our matcha is:
- Grown and harvested in Japan
- Shade-cultivated for 20–30 days before harvest
- Stone-ground into ultra-fine powder
- Free from additives or fillers
We drink it every day. We wouldn’t sell anything we wouldn’t drink ourselves.
Our Vision
Something honest in a fast-moving world
We’re not here to sell you a trend. We’re here to offer something calming and real. Ukiyo Matcha is for anyone who wants to slow down — even just for one cup. No pressure, no gimmicks. Just quality matcha and a moment of clarity.
From us to you
Thank you
Whether you’re a matcha first-timer or a daily drinker, thank you for being here. Every cup you make is a small act of intention — and that’s what Ukiyo is all about.
We hope our matcha becomes part of your morning, your afternoon pause, or your evening wind-down. However you drink it, make it yours.
